What makes the KR272 and KR276 different from older Kress models?

These models belong to the new EyePilot® generation. While older models rely strictly on satellite (RTK) data and ultrasonic sensors to navigate blindly around obstacles, the KR272 and KR276 feature built-in 3D Stereo Cameras. They can actually see, recognize what objects are, and visually navigate your lawn like a human would.

Do I still need to trim the edges of my yard manually?

Hardly ever. Both models feature ZeroTrim technology. Because the cutting deck is specifically offset and paired with precise camera navigation, the mower can drive along hardscaping, paths, and walls to cut the grass down to 0–0.8 inches from the edge. This eliminates almost all tedious string-trimming work.

Do I need to pay for a monthly 4G cellular subscription?

No. Integrated 4G cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity are built directly into the mower's architecture from day one. An embedded SIM card with active data service is included with your purchase, meaning there are no activation, configuration, or ongoing subscription fees to keep the mower connected to the over-the-air RTK network.

Will it get lost or stop working under heavy tree shade?

No. Standard satellite mowers will stop and error out if thick trees or tall walls block their GPS signals. The KR272 and KR276 are equipped with V-SLAM technology. If the satellite signal drops, the mower’s AI "eyes" seamlessly take over tracking, allowing it to navigate perfectly through heavily shaded areas without missing a spot.
